Maintenance Specialist Core Responsibilities:

  • Creates, maintains, communicates and follows preventative maintenance schedules for equipment at assigned facilities.
  • Provides work direction to maintenance technician.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools to install, set up, troubleshoot, maintain and repair production equipment, material handling equipment and building systems.
  • Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Performs repair and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair and maintenance of production machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and/or schematics for assigned equipment.
  • Complies with applicable environmental and safety laws, regulations and policies.
  • Determines, specifies and communicates complete instructions for custom fabrication of tooling, as well as equipment modifications.
  • Subject to approval by management, sources tooling, parts, supplies and/or equipment from outside vendors.
  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Assists in maintenance of facility systems and utilities.

Job Qualifications:

  • 7-15 years of experience in industrial maintenance with at least 2 years in CNC machine maintenance.
  • Must be able to perform basic shop mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Must be able to correctly measure and record dimensions of equipment and parts.
  • Must be able to completely and correctly sketch custom parts and tools.
  • Must be able to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment malfunctions.
  • Must be able to use powered and non-powered hand tools.
  • Must be able to read and write memos, emails and correspondence.
  • Must be able to enter, edit, read and interpret maintenance records and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Valid Class C Drivers License or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read technical documentation pertaining to assigned equipment to be maintained and/or repaired.

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to work in a sitting, kneeling or crouching position continuously for up to 2 hours.
  • Must be able to use non-powered toold to tighten or loosen fasteners.
  • Must be willing to work around cleaning chemicals as well as parts containing or covered in oil.
